Nasrin Alamdari, Assistant ProfessorNasrin Alamdari is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Florida State University. Dr. Alamdari’s research focuses on urban stormwater management, sustainable and resilient water systems, and the integration of artificial intelligence to predict and mitigate harmful algal blooms and other water quality issues. Her work leverages interdisciplinary collaborations across civil engineering, environmental science, and computational modeling to develop nature-based solutions that enhance urban resilience. Dr. Alamdari has led multiple projects funded by the National Science Foundation, Environmental Protection Agency, and Florida Department of Environmental Protection, focusing on the sustainable management of water resources under changing climatic and land-use conditions. She utilizes tools from hydrology, deep learning, and optimization to investigate the dynamic interactions between urban infrastructure, water quality, and nonstationary stressors. Her research program emphasizes environmental justice and the equitable distribution of green infrastructure benefits, ensuring resilient water management strategies for all communities.
