Position Description
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering invites applications for one postdoctoral research associate or research scientist position, beginning Fall 2025. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research at the intersection of driving simulation, virtual reality, and traffic signal control.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments using advanced driving simulators integrated with virtual reality platforms.
  • Develop and implement traffic signal control algorithms to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Analyze driver behavior data and evaluate system performance under various scenarios.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Prepare technical reports, manuscripts, and presentations.

About Principal Investigator

Dr. Qianwen Guo leads a dynamic research group focused on transportation systems optimization, with special emphasis on public transit, smart/shared mobility, and resilience in transportation networks. Her work has been published in top-tier journals such as Transportation Research Part A, B, an C, Journal of Airport Transport Management. Current projects include food delivery via drones, resilience studies for bridges and road networks, and transit operation strategies.
