Viviana M. Dos Santos, Post-Doctoral Researcher - Dr. Dos Santos is a human factors and safety engineering researcher. Her work focuses on translating empirical human factors research into practical solutions that improve human cognition and performance, reduce workload, guide the design of user-centered systems, and improve system resilience in safety-critical environments, including emergency response, transportation, healthcare, and industrial systems. She applies experimental methods and Virtual Reality (VR) simulation technologies to assess cognition, performance, and decision-making. Dr. Dos Santos has developed and applied research-driven interventions for emergency response, including situation awareness-oriented training strategies, resilience assessment frameworks, and ergonomics and process safety redesign in industry.
She earned her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University and has received international recognition for her contributions to human factors and ergonomics research.
