Yuyan Pan, Post-Doctoral Researcher - Dr. Pan is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. Before joining FSU, Dr. Pan spent one year as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Pennsylvania State University. Her research integrates traffic flow theory, state estimation, and optimization with public transit planning to improve transportation network resilience. By applying machine learning to smart mobility, her work aims to develop innovative solutions for efficient and sustainable urban transportation. She has served as lead technical investigator in multiple projects supported by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Pennsylvania DOT. She has published more than 20 academic papers in leading journals in the field of transportation engineering. Outside of research, she enjoys exploring new ideas with colleagues, mentoring students, and contributing to academic communities through peer review and conference participation.
